Lakshadweep Seaplane Status
Scheduled seaplane operations are running on a published timetable from 18 September to 14 October 2026, with no service on Tuesdays. The timetable covers the Kochi–Kalpeni–Kavaratti–Kadmat–Agatti circuit. Individual sectors remain subject to weather, sea conditions and operator confirmation — reconfirm your sector 24–48 hours before travel.

How do I get Lakshadweep seaplane tickets? Seaplane tickets are not sold like conventional airline tickets on booking websites. The operator has published a timetable for 18 September to 14 October 2026 (daily except Tuesdays), so the timings are set — but you still book by enquiry: you confirm your seat and date, receive a fare quote, complete payment, and get a written booking confirmation with boarding details. That confirmation is your ticket for the sector. This guide explains how tickets work, what you receive after booking, and what to carry on travel day.

How Lakshadweep Seaplane Tickets Differ From Airline Tickets
If you have booked IndiGo, Alliance Air or fly91 flights to Agatti, you are used to searching a timetable, selecting a seat and receiving an e-ticket immediately. Lakshadweep seaplane tickets work differently:
- Published timetable, limited window — timings are fixed for 18 September to 14 October 2026 (no Tuesday service); dates after that are not yet published
- No standard GDS or airline website listing Lakshadweep seaplane inventory — seats are booked by enquiry
- Weather dependency — a confirmed ticket can still be delayed or rescheduled on the day
- Permit requirement — your Lakshadweep entry permit must cover every island on the route; a seaplane ticket alone is not enough
- Enquiry-first process — ticket issuance follows seat confirmation, not the other way around
Lakshadweep Tourism Holidays Pvt Ltd coordinates this process. We are a Lakshadweep-based travel company, not the aircraft operator. Tickets are issued through operational arrangements once a sector is confirmed.
Can I Buy Lakshadweep Seaplane Tickets Online?
There is no instant online checkout for Lakshadweep seaplane tickets on this website or on standard airline booking platforms. You can see the published timings on our schedule page, but there is no live seat map — seats are booked by enquiry.
The correct path is:
- Check the published timetable for your travel date (no service on Tuesdays)
- Submit an enquiry with your date, sector and number of travellers
- Receive confirmation that seats are available, with a fare quote
- Complete payment after permit and accommodation are aligned
- Receive a booking confirmation document — your ticket
See our booking guide for the full workflow.
What Counts as a Seaplane Ticket?
Your booking confirmation after payment is the ticket for that seaplane sector. It should include:
- Passenger name(s) as booked
- Route — origin and destination (e.g. Kochi to Kalpeni, or Kavaratti to Agatti)
- Travel date
- Reporting time and boarding point instructions
- Contact details for day-of-travel queries
- Baggage allowance reminder
Keep a printed or offline copy with your Lakshadweep entry permit and government-issued photo ID. You need all three at boarding. A permit alone is not a seaplane ticket; a ticket alone does not replace the permit.
What You Need Before Getting a Ticket
Prepare these before or during the ticket process:
- Travel dates — firm or narrow date range
- Route or islands — e.g. Kochi entry to Kalpeni, or Kavaratti to Agatti for a flight connection
- Number of travellers — adults and children with ages
- Lakshadweep entry permit — in progress or approved, listing every island on your itinerary
- Confirmed accommodation — typically required for permit applications and practical arrival planning
- Photo ID — Aadhaar, passport or other government ID as applicable
You can start an enquiry before your permit is approved, but do not pay for a ticket until you are confident your permit covers the correct islands and dates.
Tickets for Mainland vs Inter-Island Sectors
Mainland tickets (Kochi to Lakshadweep)
A mainland seaplane ticket covers one sector from Kochi to an island (or the return). On the published timetable the direct mainland sector is Kochi–Kalpeni; a ticket for "Kochi to Kavaratti", "Kochi to Kadmat" or "Kochi to Agatti" covers more than one connecting sector on the same day, and your confirmation lists each leg with its timing.
Compare with a conventional Kochi to Agatti flight ticket if your destination is Agatti specifically — airline tickets are purchased on published schedules and may be more predictable for timing.
Inter-island tickets
Inter-island tickets are issued per sector — Kalpeni to Kavaratti, Kavaratti to Agatti, Kadmat to Kiltan, etc. Each sector needs its own availability check and confirmation. A ticket for one leg does not automatically cover onward travel to another island.
Multi-island itineraries should be quoted as a coordinated set of sectors. Ask for a written breakdown of each leg when you receive your quote.
Ticket Price and Fare Confirmation
The ticket price is confirmed at the time of booking — not from a published fare table on this website. Your quote should state:
- Fare per person or total for the group
- Whether GST is included or additional
- What is included (sector only vs package elements)
- Baggage allowance — typically around 12 kg per person
See our fare guide for how pricing works. The ticket fare is one component of your total Lakshadweep trip budget alongside permits, accommodation and transfers.
Children, Infants and Group Tickets
Include the exact number of travellers and children's ages in your enquiry. Child fare policies depend on the operator and age brackets — do not assume children travel free or at half fare without written confirmation.
Group travel (six or more passengers) may require multiple departures or advance planning because seaplane capacity per aircraft is limited. Enquire early for group tickets, especially in peak season.
Ticket Changes, Cancellations and Weather
Change and cancellation terms depend on what is communicated at the time of booking. Because seaplane operations are weather-dependent:
- Operator cancellation due to weather may be rescheduled subject to availability — not always refundable as cash
- Traveller-initiated changes depend on operator policy and how close to the travel date you request them
- No-shows without prior notice typically forfeit the sector
Read our cancellation and refund policy and confirm sector-specific terms in your written confirmation before payment.
Tickets vs Permits — Do Not Confuse Them
Two separate documents are required for Lakshadweep seaplane travel:
| Document | Issued by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Lakshadweep entry permit | Lakshadweep Administration | Legal authorisation to visit specified islands on specified dates |
| Seaplane ticket (booking confirmation) | Through Lakshadweep Tourism Holidays Pvt Ltd / operator | Confirmed transport on a specific sector and date |
| Photo ID | Government authority | Identity verification at boarding |
Your permit must list every island in your itinerary. A seaplane ticket to Kalpeni is not valid if Kalpeni is not on your permit. See our permit guide.
Connecting Tickets and Multi-Sector Itineraries
A single "ticket" enquiry may cover multiple sectors — for example Kochi to Kalpeni plus Kalpeni to Kavaratti. Each sector still requires operational confirmation. Your written confirmation should list all confirmed legs, dates and reporting instructions.
If connecting to a conventional flight at Agatti, allow generous buffer time between seaplane arrival and airline check-in. Do not book a tight Agatti departure on the assumption the seaplane will land at a fixed time unless that timing is explicitly confirmed in writing.
What to Do If Your Ticket Sector Is Delayed or Cancelled
On the day of travel, stay in contact with your coordinator if weather is poor. If a sector is cancelled:
- Ask about rescheduling to the next available departure
- Discuss boat or ship alternatives if seaplane rescheduling is not possible
- Adjust accommodation and permit dates if your itinerary changes materially
- Do not leave an island without confirmed onward transport
This is why buffer days matter — especially on return sectors to Kochi or Agatti.
