This package uses seaplane legs on the published daily circuit (avoiding Tuesdays):

1. Kochi to Kavaratti (arrival)

Your journey begins in Kochi, Kerala — the mainland gateway for Lakshadweep. The Kochi to Kavaratti seaplane routing is a same-day connection on the published timetable — Kochi to Kalpeni (07:30, or 10:00 on 18 September) then Kalpeni to Kavaratti, arriving around 09:45. We coordinate the timing so your permit, accommodation check-in and transfers align.

2. Kavaratti to Kalpeni (mid-itinerary transfer)

On Day 3 you check out of Kavaratti and transfer to Kalpeni. The scheduled Kavaratti to Kalpeni inter-island sector runs in the afternoon on the published circuit. If weather affects the sector on your date, we coordinate an alternative inter-island transfer and adjust activity timing accordingly.

3. Kalpeni to Kochi (departure)

On your final afternoon, the scheduled Kalpeni to Kochi seaplane sector (the last leg of the daily circuit) returns you to the Kerala mainland, reaching Kochi around 17:05. Allow buffer time for weather-related delays and do not book tight onward connections — we discuss backup options when you book.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

The itinerary below describes the planned flow for a standard 5-day / 4-night Seaplane Escape. Exact timings, activity slots and transfer modes are confirmed when you book, based on seaplane availability, tide conditions and local schedules.

Day 1 — Arrive Kavaratti from Kochi

Morning / afternoon: Depart Kochi on your confirmed connecting seaplane routing to Kavaratti. Reporting time and boarding point details are shared in your booking confirmation. Carry your printed Lakshadweep entry permit, government photo ID and seaplane confirmation in hand baggage.

Afternoon: Upon arrival, transfer to your approved island accommodation and settle in. Kavaratti is the administrative capital of Lakshadweep — a working island community with lagoon access, modest tourism facilities and a calmer pace than mainland beach resorts.

Evening: Take a leisurely stroll to nearby beaches at your own pace. The lagoon shoreline and open sea-facing stretches offer a gentle introduction to island life. Watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea, listen to the waves, and unwind after your travel day. Return to your room for a peaceful overnight stay on Kavaratti.

Meals: As per your accommodation inclusions. Dinner is typically available at or through your property.

Day 2 — Kavaratti Island Exploration

Morning: Begin with breakfast at your accommodation. The day is structured around Kavaratti's natural and cultural highlights, with time for optional water activities.

Optional water sports (at your own cost): Kavaratti offers optional activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and scuba diving through local operators when available. These are not included in the base package price — enquire at booking if you want us to pre-arrange sessions. Conditions and operator availability vary by season.

Day sightseeing on Kavaratti:

• Fisheries Museum — learn about the marine biodiversity of Lakshadweep and the fishing traditions that sustain island communities
• Muttiyar Beach — a quieter beach stretch suited to walking and lagoon views
• Kavaratti lighthouse — climb for panoramic views over the island and surrounding ocean (access subject to local conditions)
• Eastern jetty area — a tranquil spot to observe coastal life, boats and lagoon activity
• Shipwreck Point — on the northern side, where remnants of a sunken vessel remain visible and tell a story of the sea's power over maritime traffic

Evening: Return to the beaches for unhurried time by the shore. Kavaratti's evenings are quiet — this is not a nightlife destination. Overnight on Kavaratti.

Day 3 — Kavaratti to Kalpeni & Lagoon Kayaking

Morning: Check out from your Kavaratti accommodation after breakfast. Transfer to Kalpeni by confirmed seaplane sector or coordinated inter-island transfer.

Afternoon: Check in to your Kalpeni stay. Kalpeni is a lagoon island on the eastern side of the archipelago — known for wide turquoise waters, coral reefs and a slower, nature-focused rhythm than Kavaratti.

Evening — included activity: Kayaking to Pitti and Tilakkam

These small uninhabited islands lie very close to Kalpeni — close enough to reach by kayak when conditions allow. Paddle across the sheltered lagoon to Pitti and Tilakkam, explore the shoreline, and experience one of Kalpeni's most memorable excursions.

• During low tide, it is sometimes possible to walk across exposed coral flats toward these islets — always follow your guide's instructions to avoid damaging living coral
• This area is among the best snorkelling spots in the Kalpeni atoll — package snorkelling is included as part of this excursion when conditions permit
• Bring reef-safe sunscreen, your snorkel gear if you prefer your own fit, and water

Return to Kalpeni for overnight stay.

Day 4 — Kalpeni Sightseeing & Glass-Boat Trip to Cheriyam

Morning — Kalpeni island sightseeing: Explore the main attractions of Kalpeni with a full morning dedicated to the island's natural and cultural highlights:

• Tip Beach sandbank — Kalpeni's signature experience; a stretch of white sand in the lagoon, best visited at favourable tide timings
• Lagoon snorkelling — coral patches and clear water around the main island

Evening — included activity: Glass-boat trip to Cheriyam

Cheriyam is an uninhabited island near Kalpeni, reachable by glass-bottom boat. View coral formations and marine life through the boat's viewing panels without entering the water — ideal for non-swimmers or as a complement to snorkelling. This excursion is included in the package. Overnight on Kalpeni.

Day 5 — Depart Kalpeni to Kochi by Seaplane

Afternoon: Check out and transfer to the seaplane boarding point for your scheduled Kalpeni to Kochi sector (the circuit's last leg, reaching Kochi around 17:05). Keep permit, ID and confirmation accessible. Because this is an afternoon mainland arrival, do not book onward flights or trains for the same day.

Kalpeni is the lagoon heart of this itinerary. Where Kavaratti offers administrative town character, Kalpeni is defined by water — wide lagoons, coral reefs, sandbanks and uninhabited islets a short paddle away.

The Pitti and Tilakkam kayaking excursion is a standout experience: small islands, clear water, excellent snorkelling, and the possibility of reef walking at low tide. The Cheriyam glass-boat trip adds a different perspective on marine life. Tip Beach on Day 4 is the classic Kalpeni photograph — white sand in turquoise water.

Permits

Best time to book

October to March is peak season with generally calmer seas and higher demand. Enquire early for Christmas–New Year and February travel. Monsoon months (roughly June to September) carry higher weather disruption risk for seaplane sectors and water activities.

What to pack

Light cotton clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, sandals, snorkel gear (optional — some provided on included excursions), soft luggage within 12 kg, cash in Indian rupees, printed permit and ID. Alcohol is prohibited in Lakshadweep.

Health and safety
